Pics of Newburgh Art Center and Of Things Passed Consignment Shop

Sorry guys about not posting these sooner, I had a very busy weekend and on top of that I've been playing The Sims Social. So if anyone is looking for a Sims Social neighbor feel free to add me. Just add me as a friend on facebook.

Now back to the reason for this post. Sorry for the bad pics, I was kind of in a hurry when I took them.

Of Things Passed Consignment Shop Pictures

Of things passed was based on a local consignment shop that is ran by two sisters, Cheryl and London. It was once a home of their earlier ancestors. Their mother one day decided that she had way to many clothes that she cared to have. She then called up some of her neighbors and asked if they would like to swap things that they owned and no longer needed or wanted. Soon it became a neighborhood ritual. Every weekend people from the neighbor met up at the Dalton's for a friendly swap. After Cheryl and London's parents purchased a new home, they both decided  not to sale their current residence, they thought it was good idea to open it up as a commercial swap shop.

Just a little back story I thought up as I was building the shop.
More pics....

It has two entrances. A side entrance from the main street and the main entrance is from the plaza pathway. Well not really a plaza as in more than one building on a lot, but you'll see what I'm mean soon enough.

As you can see Of Things Passed has gone through many renovations. After the sisters took over the shop they have since gutted out the original floor plan to a more open space for browsing. On top of that they added furniture as well as many other things both sisters and locals have picked up on their travels.

Okay, I think I'm getting a little carried away with this whole back story stuff, so I'll leave it at that. Well, not really.. I've been in the mood to make some sims today and these two sisters are definitely going to be on the list.

Next on my things to do for Newburgh Heights is build a salon. I kind of got an idea of what I want, but I'm not sure how its all going to play out, so let's see what happens.

Newburgh Heights: Pictures of Sunset Beach and other random places!

I know I promised to get some more pics of the  Art Center, don't worry the weeks not over yet. Well since after patching I had to reinstall Newburgh Heights, this time around I ran into a problem with the beach, reason why I'm posting pics of it instead of the Art Center. I sent one of my tester sims to enjoy the beach and only to find it flooded. I don't know how that happened because last test version there was no flooding. So I decided to go back in CAW and fix the terrain and place another beach lot. I wasn't too upset about it though because I planned on remaking the beach anyhow. Hey at least that gives me a story to tell about Newburgh Heights. So after making fixes in CAW and exporting again all was fine, except there was no beach to visit. So I remade the beach. Sunset Beach is named after the main street that runs along the beach area.
Picture of the great flood. Sorry if the picture is a little dark.

Now time for pictures of the beach after the great flood.

Screenshot of Sunset Beach taken from ocean views.

I made the picnic tables white to match the ones placed in CAW. The picture right below is a small parking lot found next to beach.

In the last post I said that the fire dept. looked out of place in the area that it was in. I did a very slight makeover, not too many changes. I'm happy with the results. The empty area right across from the fire dept will be a dive bar. Just a little whole in the wall for the residents near by and firemen/women to visit after a hard day of saving lives.

Replaced the grocer and restaurant rabbitholes. The grocery store from Town Life seemed more fitting and heck I just like that restaurant and had to use it.

Random pic of the Diner. Currently named 49er's Diner. Its named after a small diner in my area that I frequent a lot. I think I was craving McDonald's fries when I chose the colors. The empty area next to it, I'm thinking about leaving that area open for future expansions.

A chapel I built a while ago. Please excuse the way it looks now. Items were replaced because I have not added any store content to my game yet. I did however make it over and made some updates such as adding wedding arches from Generations. No pictures until it has been fully playtested.

On a side note: I finally built the consignment shop, currently named Things Remembered. It is currently undergoing playtesting, so pictures of that should be coming soon. Remember that horrible pool I showed the other day, well Newburgh Heights residents has a new and improved one. No pictures because I forgot to take them.

Oh and....
This is Carrie Dean, she's currently testing out the seed and gem spawners for me. She's also making sure that all of the gardening opportunities are available.

Until next time, Happy Simming!

Pictures of the Inside of Newburgh Heights Art Center

I didn't think I would be able to have time to post the pics today, yet here I am with them. Enjoy.

There is an entrance from both sides of the street.

Newburgh Heights Art Center has 3 levels. On the main level you will find a sculpture room, a central lobby, and a small portrait gallery (which I forgot to get a pic of). oops!
The second level contains a room with abstract art and a room for various artifacts. Donations would be available. The central area of the second level contains a small lounge area with bar.
On the lower level there  are displays of sculptures and topiary art. Very beautiful. Sorry didn't get any pics for this. Also there is a sculpture station and art easels setup along some of the pathways.

I'll try to get some pics of the lower level posted sometime this week. Also I'll get some more pics up for Newburgh Heights this week also.

Happy Simming!

Finally an update for Newburgh Heights

Sorry guys but the Summer has really been keeping me busy. I have little to no time to work on Newburgh Heights. With the little time I do have I worked on Newburgh Heights in bits and pieces. I did install generations a week or so after its release and ran into a few  problems. I ended up having to reinstall. One thing I am happy about though is that I managed to not lose the Newburgh Heights world file. Yay! Over the last couple of months I've been letting my pictures stack up. For the next couple of days I will try to give some updates on the pictures I have neglected to post. No promises though.. Today I'll show a some of the builds and a short mention of things I do and do like and also what I plan to change.

So on to the pics....

This is the gym located in the Beach area. I'm not sure if I want to change or not. I'm still debating if I want to update with the new items from Town Life. Originally this was the gym located in Newport Bay. I did however update it with items from Late Night.

This is an arcade I built for teens to hangout. It is called the Powerhouse Arcade. It is also located in the beach area.

Just a pic of the entrance to the Business building. I may change the rabbithole after I playtest it a little more.

Criminal Warehouse located in the Industrial district. Currently named Ocean's 22 Packaging Co.

The Science Facility. I had a name for it but I really don't like it, so I'm brainstorming on what it should be named.

Rear view of the Science Facility. It is located in the industrial area.

Military Base. Still trying to come up with a name. I really have a hard time with coming up with names.

Rear view of the Military Base.

Fire Department. Definitely will be some changes here. The landscaping is not fitting this area at all. I don't think the building looks grungy enough for this part of town so it will definitely be getting a slight makeover. If you haven't noticed this is the same Fire Dept found in Newport Bay.

Not sure if this has been showed but this is the subway lot found in the more upscale part of Newburgh Heights.

Subway found in the Suburban area.

A lot that was built in the Suburban area. Unfortunately I lost due to not saving. But I do plan to rebuild it again. This is just a shell of it.

This is supposed to be the community pool but honestly it will be getting bulldozed. It's ugly and I have no idea what I was thinking. I'm not even going to bother with showing more pics of this horrific disaster.

The library. Currently it is called the Newburgh Municipal Library. When I can be creative enough it will have a better name. This library can be found in my studio under the name Pine Cove Library. This is an updated version. I only updated with a couple of Ambitions items but I plan to add the mixology level 1 skill book. No I'm not adding all the levels of every skill book. If I do, then there will not be a point of having a book store.

A single family starter. I'm not very good at building starters, hopefully I'll get better.

Another single family starter.

Cambridge Pointe found its way into the suburbs. I may water down the landscaping a bit.

Some homes that I have made over the summer that I plan to add to Newburgh Heights. I've yet to furnish them. I'll probably just add bare necessities. Wow saying that reminds of the movie The Jungle Book.

Sorry no pics of the beach. I have new plans and its currently under new construction. In the next post I'll show pics of the inside of the Art Center.

For those who have no idea about The Jungle Book. Enjoy!
