So did a challenge earlier today to try a get some type of creativity going. The challenge is called Colour My World hosted by Smokytopaz over at the Simmers Society. The challenge for the session was to created or decorate a room in the color orange using a photo as inspiration and take the colors from the photo and incorporate them into your interior design. Well orange is quite a hard color because you don't want to use to much of it in one place because it can be quite overwhelming. So since the season is fall, I thought why not let nature take its course. Besides I wanted to decorate a home that I recently built in past week or so. Yes I'm back to building but thats not what this post is about. I really enjoyed this challenge it was a lot of fun and I think it has somewhat restored some type of creativeness in me. Is creativeness a word? I missed out on the previous challenges for this so I may go back and do them on my on time.
Lately, I have been in a building rut. For the moment I've been playing around with creating sims and editing photos of them. I can admit I'm not that very good at creating sims nor editing, but I guess practice will make me better.
First up Kim Jones!
Kimberly Jones is the first sim that I ever created for the sims 3. I decided that she was long overdue for some gameplay time and with that came a makeover.
Today I downloaded the Create A Pet demo. It was a nice teaser, if only I could have made my entire family. The customization for is nice. At first I was a little disappointed that I would not be able to create a cat until I figured out. I really had duh moment on that one. Lol. Only thing I wish for was to be able to create a nice fat cat like Garfield. Too bad the sliders wouldn't let me go that far as I can tell. I hope I'm wrong cause I really want my Garfield. I'm really tired so if it sounds like I'm rambling then I'm probably am. Also excuse any spelling mistakes too tired to fix them.
On to the kitty!
Doesn't look much like Garfield eh! He's way to skinny to be Garfield and his head looks like someone just plop it on top of his body. Maybe I'll try again when I'm not so tired.
Oh I made a cocker spaniel which also didn't turn out the way I wanted. I wanted her to look like Lady from that Disney Movie Lady and the Tramp.
Of Course I made a horse! Decided to just have a little fun with this one.
Newburgh Heights Municipal Pool. I didn't like the original one that I built so I gave it a slight makeover and I'm happy with the way it looks now.
As you can see in the back I added the laundromat from townlife. I'm not sure if I'll keep it not, but if I do it's going to get a makeover. I think it blends in too much with pool.
Newburgh Heights Neighborhood Layouts
First we have the suburbs. The suburban part of town is very family oriented. It contains parks, the school, a pool and a diner. The homes are designed in a Traditional architecture style.
The suburbs is about 75% complete.
This is downtown, it is about 60% completed. I still need to build the salon and football field. I'll probably get started on the salon today. I also need two apartments here. I'm thinking maybe of adding EA built ones and making them over.
This is the industrial docks. It is the seedier part of town. It contains the criminal warehouse, science facility, military base, and some apartments and clubs. This part of town is where the less fortunate wlll probably start out. It is about 30% complete.
Here we have the beach. Here you will find the beach of course, the gym, an arcade, a couple of clubs. one of them being a poolside club. Have not started any homes here. This is about 25% into completion. Don't mind those apartment shells they're just there as placeholders. Those will get bulldozed before it's all said and done. I don't want them blocking my view of the beautiful sunset on the beach. BTW the name of the beach is Sunset Beach because it faces Newburgh Heights' beautiful Sunset. I'll try to get some pictures of it the next time I'm in game.
I call this area Highland Hills. This is where the very well off will stay. Sorry no starters here, but if your sim can afford it they will be able to purchase an empty lot. As you can see I have not done very much here. Just added the graveyard, which I used EA's Ivy Hill from Twinbrook, because I really like it. Did give it a few changes though. The homes here will be somewhere along the line of modern mansions.
Well thats just about it. I wanted to give an overview of the whole map, but found it hard to get pictures of the whole map while in game. I'll try to get one next time I'm in CAW.
Oh one more pic. I found it hilarious that the vampire guy passes out while this sim is protesting about werewolves.
So I took a challenge to build a slum apartment over at the Simmers Society. Never thought I would get that as a challenge. So far I'm having fun with it and it's pushing me to build something I have not done before. Now I can stop avoiding those apartments in Newburgh Heights.
Some pics I took of what I've done so far.
After building the shell I decided to take another plunge and start another apartment. Just another addition to Newburgh Heights.
Sometime tomorrow I'll try to post some pics of the layout of Newburgh Heights and the renovated community pool.
Since I haven't made a post in a week or so, I decided to make a post about a sim I made a while back before I created this blog. Her name is Zinnia Crestmont.
Zinnia is a beautiful Earth child. She is eco-friendly and loves to replenish the earth while gardening. She loves to listen to Electronica music, eating pancakes. Zinnia's favorite color is blue because she hates gray skies.
